DAAD 2027
onSET in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan: test centres and a 4-week plan before 2 November
The DAAD office for Central Asia has set 2 November 2026 as the deadline for 2027 master’s scholarships. If you want to study in German, you need proof of German by then, and the onSET is the fastest option. Here are the test centres and a plan for the weeks you have left.
The deadline: 2 November 2026
According to the scholarship database of the DAAD office in Almaty, the deadline applies to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. For Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia we only found the same date on third-party sites, so check it with the DAAD office in Tbilisi.
For programmes taught in German, the DAAD usually lists TestDaF, DSH, DSD, Goethe-Zertifikat, ÖSD, telc Deutsch and onSET Deutsch. The onSET takes about 40 minutes and the result is ready right after the test, so it fits a tight schedule.
Where to take the onSET
Uzbekistan: Andijan Development Center (Andijan), Ferghana State University (Ferghana), DAAD-Lektorat (Samarkand), Uzbek State World Languages University (Tashkent), National University of Uzbekistan (Tashkent).
Kazakhstan: Kazakh-German Institute of Science and Technology (Ust-Kamenogorsk), Technological University (Almaty), German-Kazakh University (Almaty), Nazarbayev University (Astana), L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Astana), DAAD, KAZGUU (Astana). Kyrgyzstan: Karasaev State University (Bishkek), Kyrgyz State Technical University (Bishkek). Tajikistan: Sprachlernzentrum (Dushanbe), Russian-Tajik Slavonic University (Dushanbe), ZfA Fachschaftsberatung Deutsch (Dushanbe).
These names come from the official centre list (checked 6 October 2026). Each centre sets its own dates and fees, and they change often. Book through the current list on onset.de, by the end of October at the latest.
What costs Russian speakers points
Russian has no articles, and that is where many people lose points: der, die, das and their forms after prepositions (dem, den, der) are often the missing half-word in a C-Test. Learn every noun with its article and drill the article tables until you fill them in without thinking.
The case system itself is familiar: Russian has six cases, German four, so you already know the logic of “this preposition takes this case”. The hard part is the forms, especially adjective endings after der, ein and no article. Then there is the keyboard: ä, ö, ü and ß must be spelled correctly, even on a Russian layout. Practise that before test day.
Four weeks to 2 November
Week 1 (to 12 October): a free C-Test as your baseline, then the base lessons on gender and articles. Week 2 (to 19 October): cases and adjective endings, two or three texts a day at your level.
Week 3 (to 26 October): verb forms and prepositions, texts with the five-minute timer, one half simulation, and book your test centre date now at the latest. Week 4 (to 1 November): two full simulations, review only your weakest topics, rest the day before the test. The 30-day study plan sets this out day by day.
About onSET Prep
onSET Prep is an independent practice platform for German C-Tests, with a Russian introduction at /ru/onset. It is not a DAAD or TestDaF-Institut product, and practice scores do not predict an official CEFR level.
