About onSET Prep and our editorial policy
onSET Prep is an independent learning resource for the C-Test format. It is not the official onSET and is not provided or endorsed by the TestDaF-Institut, g.a.s.t. or DAAD.
onSET Prep at a glance

Responsibility for the content
Articles are published under the onSET Prep organization name. We do not currently list a named specialist reviewer or claim institutional accreditation.
Sources and practice material
- Statements about test format and scoring link to official onSET sources. Check application and admission requirements with the specific university or scholarship program.
- Our exercises and explanations are learning material, not official exam questions. Practice scores are not psychometrically calibrated and do not predict a CEFR level.
- A 14-day plan organizes available study time. It does not promise a proficiency-level jump or a particular test result.
- Publication and modification dates belong to each article. Substantive corrections update the modification date.
Privacy and optional analytics
When optional analytics is enabled, we use PostHog for page views (including the referring website and campaign tags, without full addresses) and clearly defined product actions, plus Google Ads and Meta for advertising measurement when enabled; Google Ads and Meta load through Google Tag Manager. On marketing pages, RB2B may recognise the company behind a visit and, for US visitors, publicly listed business contacts; where consent is required (for example in the EU) it loads only after you agree, and the training app host does not load it. We do not send email addresses, names, typed answers or Checkout Session IDs to PostHog. The same analytics choice also allows masked session recordings of page structure, clicks and scrolling. Inputs and visible text are masked; sign-in, sign-up, account, support and payment areas are excluded. Broad click autocapture remains disabled. Declining or withdrawing consent stops further optional collection; payment and learning progress continue to work.
If you ask for the three follow-up emails after a free sample, we store your email address, language, the recommended lesson and when you signed up, confirmed and were emailed. We only write after you confirm, send through Resend, and stop as soon as you unsubscribe. An unsubscribed address is kept as a do-not-email record. To delete it completely, email support@onsetprep.com.
