Regular verbs & sein/haben
Verbs I: present tensePreview · PassFree topic preview
Build regular German present-tense verbs by finding the stem, choosing the subject ending, and handling stems ending in -t or -d.
For a regular verb, remove -en and add the subject ending: ich -e, du -st, er/sie/es -t, wir -en, ihr -t, sie/Sie -en. The subject determines the form.
Worked example
Meine Eltern wohnen in Köln.
“Meine Eltern” is plural and corresponds to “sie”, so the ending is -en: wohn + en.
